Africa’s Children’s Fund recognizes the lack of educational resources in less fortunate countries. The level of education decreases as the level of poverty increases.
We take our mission to heart and thus we continue to implement and expand our GIFT OF BOOKS program.
THE NEED FOR EDUCATION
Only 20% of children in poverty ridden areas attend classes beyond primary school, leaving many people unable to learn the skills they need to break out of the cycle of poverty that surrounds them.
Over 50% of the worlds population lives in poverty with an astounding majority living in Africa and the Caribbean.
Africa’s Children’s Fund collaborates with other organizations and corporations to continue the successful realization of our dream of putting a book into the hands of every less fortunate child all around the world.
With the support of organizations such as Books For Africa and the Coca-Cola Foundation, corporations such as UPS and with the extensive support of the Georgia Public School System, Africa’s Children’s Fund has been able to send approximately over three million books to Africa and the Caribbean to date.
Our greatest supporter is the Textbook Recycling Company which donates hundreds of books and provides us with a warehouse to hold our donated books till they are shipped overseas.
The GIFT OF BOOKS program allows our organization the ability to collect and ship surplus books to help build or rebuild libraries in disadvantaged communities in Africa and the Caribbean. ACF also donates children’s books to schools and development centers in the United States.
Africa’s Children’s Fund needs helping hands and generous hearts to fulfill its educational development mission. We seek financial donations and in-kind support including books, computers and educational supplies.
